4wd trip to Coral Bay & Karijini National Park from
Perth to Broome on a self drive road trip in Australia
Perth to Broome or Broome to Perth (8 Days and 8 Nights)
Day 1 Perth to Kalbarri
We suggest an early start to ensure a chance at
a Kalbarri sunset. Head north to the wheat port of Geraldton which
is an ideal spot for lunch. At Northampton, turn toward Port Gregory
then follow the coastal road into Kalbarri. Take time to stop
at some of the coastal cliff locations, the Natural Bridge being
the most spectacular. Time to relax and enjoy local seafood for
dinner to night.
Suggested overnight stay - Kalbarri Palms Resort.

Day 2 Kalbarri to Monkey Mia
On you way out of Kalbarri, take the time to visit
the Murchison River gorges, Hawks Head and Nature’s Window

left and make your way north to the Overlander Roadhouse where
the turnoff to Denham and Monkey Mia is well sign posted. Pass
through the original pearling town of Denham where any supplies
required should be purchased as shopping is very limited at the
resort.

Day 6 Tom Price
Karijini National Park would take months to explore
in its entirety. Its best to plan ahead the things you would most
like to see and the method to experience them. When booking your
tour be sure to ask for the Pilbara Holiday Planner which will
help you make your choices. We can make the bookings for you or
contact the local operators on the spot although some popular
tours and locations do get booked out. No matter what your choice,
hiking and walking are an essential part of a Karijini Experience
so you will appreciate a cold drink and a soft bed at the end
of today.
Suggested overnight stay - Karijini Lodge, Tom Price.

Day 7 Tom Price to Marble Bar
The drive north takes you back through the Park so anything missed
yesterday, can be arranged for today. Today's destination is one
of Australia’s most famous locations, one that not many
can claim to have visited. Legend has it that Marble Bar experienced
100 days where the temperature never dropped below 100 degrees
making it the hottest place in Australia. When you get there,
there is a plaque to prove it but don't worry, your room is air-conditioned.
Suggested overnight stay - Marble Bar Roadhouse.

Day 8 Marble Bar to Broome
Today you will marvel at the vastness of the Australian Outback.
Make sure your water bottle is full and all things including the
car and yourselves are topped up. Stops are limited and the distances
great but as you cruise along in air conditioned comfort, think
of the early prospectors and explorers who travelled this country
with camels, on horse back or simply walked.
Suggested overnight stay - Seashells Resort.
