Looking for the best camper hire company in Australia
The Best?
Rob started booking 4wd campers back in the 90's and was considered
the pioneer dedicated specialist booking agency to 4wd campers.
In that time we have seen many a vehicle operator and agent start
and finish.
Only 4 have remained including Rob that we know off.
The best is a very strong statement. The to us is a company that
shows real personal non rushed check out and check ins.
Real service is when you pickup the vehicle and something minor
is awry they fix it one the spot with a smile. It may take a while
but the operator shows they care and are 'On It'.
Now road side assistance is not the operator but generally the
major roadside companies like AANT and from Marg and my own experience
truly superb (very good) and caring.
Check your facts before you book
One thing we have is experience 25 years of Aussie real experience
in tours and selfdrive. I just saw 2019 a European web site specials
offer on a Darwin to Broome trip in a 2wd car via the Great Northern
Highway (they even showed the route on the map) but all the photos
were of the unsealed Gibb River Road, a wwaterfall off a unsealed
road, and the Bungle Bungles all can only be traversed in select
4wd or 4wd camper (hire) not a car and to make matters worse they
say it's a 4wd route but it's the Great Northern Highway, they are
winning travel awards and way up on the search results (paid for),
it's so frustrating to see this and may other overseas websites
on Australian content.
What to look for the Best operator or recreational vehicle
rental supplier
It's not about price it's about ifs the vehicle right for you
Reviews - force feed review of 2 to 5 words is not a review
in
our opinion see our real ones.
Ring the company agent or operator and ask a few tough questions
- if your ring us please ask for Rob in Oz 1800 107 371 Int. +61

Don't expect the bells and whistles for optional extra's
Even though a operator might say something like you can go anywhere
on a Hema map you must then read the actual rental agreement for
the fine line clauses.
Concerns whilst driving
Digging a little deeper into this subject: You really can't expect
everything in a situation. True we once had a client who side the
fibreglass rod was broken when he picked up his tent and 4wd but
only found it a few days later while using it. Then instead of ringing
the operator he rang us the booking agent and asked if we could
call the company to airdrop a new tent in. Now we took this request
for its merit: 1. Our client was annoyed 2. They wanted a solution.
We rang the operator and they said buy a tent wherever they can
and keep the receipt and that's what our client did even though
it turned out to be a pink tent.
Actually help is a key ring throws away. Look on the keyring as
the big suppliers put the emergency tel number on a tag on the key
ring so take a photo of it in case you lose your keys.
Even the largest operators only have a few spare vehicles in peak
season say July in Darwin and with 1000 vehicles on the road the
best they can do is get remote servicing to get you continuing on
your way when a concern surfaces.
There are a few companies and agents we will never ever recommend
due to their policies and service but we don't make that public
we just don't communicate with them.
As time goes on I will add more here as I remember it (2019)
None is perfect but there are good and even two great recreational
vehicle rental suppliers out there we know off.
