We have watch new companies come and go and established companies retire we have seen it all.
There are some camper rental companies we will not speak of or recommend but we don't mention who for courtesy sake but all we say is forget trip reviews look at the bad press on Google.
Also look at the fine print. The rental agreement is often so long folks don't read it but you really should as only you sign the rental agreement and agree you are aware for the terms and conditions.

At last count we have over 63 Australian Camper, RV, motorhome, Campervan, 4wd, car and 4wd camper recreational rental supply operator listed with us.
As such you will realize many are very small with just a few vehicles to some listed below with thousand's such as Maui, Apollo and Britz.
One thing any anyone weighing up companies should consider is your booking being cancelled on you because the allocated vehicle you booked is now unavailable. (In principle it's a vehicle but no particular one vehicle due to fleet movements)
So we get a lot of request from folks who have booked elsewhere because of glossy photos and good web presentation. Then when they get a cancelled booking they panic and ring us at the last minute often but sometimes a few months out.
So again check Google for any bad press on the company your considering.
In over 20 years I have never seen these 6 companies listed below ever tell a client they had not vehicle for them on the day of pickup. Though on 5 occasions I saw 2 of the main suppliers ask customers to wait as they had to fix some issues caused by the previous hirer returning the vehicle the day before and not advising the supplier of the issue and it was only during a clean or vehicle check the supplier found the issues. So on 5 occasions Marg and I got a call about this 5 times from the supplier and twice from the customer but all 7 times went they just lost 5-7 hours of that 1st day.
Now there are small boutique suppliers we really like and have been using for the last 15 years and to date the ones we actually booked and never cancelled a hire vehicle.
The supplier - the smaller ones may have a fleet of say 20 vehicles a 4wd camper and they often have 1-2 spare in peak season for emergencies. If one or two is in a accident then it's difficult for that supplier to replace the vehicle and they are allowed to cancel and refund the deposit or payment you made or consider an alternative they have.
You can't and they won't just go and buy a new vehicle the day before you arrive as the logistics is lets' say difficult.
